Bernard-Docker & Wong Crack NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings

Okotoks, AB – Okotoks Oilers Defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker (Canmore, AB) and Centre Austin Wong (Cochrane, AB) have been ranked in the mid-term edition of NHL Central Scouting’s rankings for North American Skaters.

Bernard-Docker, 17 is ranked for the second time this season and is 62nd among North American skaters and Wong, 17,  has cracked the rankings coming in at 214th.

In his sophomore season Bernard-Docker in 30 games played had 29 points, (14 goals, 15 assists) while also being a part of Team Canada West’s gold medal team at the 2017 World Junior A Challenge in Truro, Nova Scotia and has committed to the NCAA Division 1 University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

Also playing in his second season with the Oilers, Wong has 38 points (19 goals, 19 assists) in 40 games played. Was invited to the Team Canada West Selection Camp in late November, 2017 and has committed to the NCAA Division 1 Harvard University Crimson.

Oilers Head Coach/General Manager & Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says the rankings say plenty about both Jacob & Austin’s abilities to play at the next level.

“Both came into our program as 16 year-olds and made immediate impacts in our line-up,” he says. “Jacob & Austin have been an integral part to our success this season and we couldn’t be more excited for their ranking by NHL Scouts this season so far.”

Both Bernard-Docker & Wong are currently in Mississauga, Ontario for the CJHL Prospects game Tuesday, January 23, 2018 and will return to the Oiler line-up this weekend when the team faces Grande Prairie, Whitecourt & Sherwood Park starting Friday, January 26.
