Brendan Boyle commits to MacEwan University

OKOTOKS, AB (May 12, 2022) ““ The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce that 2001-born forward Brendan Boyle (Lake Country, B.C.) has committed to attend and play for MacEwan University, beginning in the 2022-23 U Sports season.

“Brendan came in and was a great leader for us this year,” said Oilers head coach and general manager Tyler Deis. “His experience helped us get where we needed to be in playoffs, and for him to cap it off with a commitment to play at the U Sports level gives our staff a lot of pride in him, as well as what he”™s accomplished and overcome.”

Located in Edmonton, the Griffins will enter their second full season of U Sports play after debuting this past year.

Boyle, 21, served as an alternate captain for the Oilers this past season and was one of the team”™s key offensive threats, recording 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) in 29 regular season games, and adding 7 more points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 12 playoff games.

Prior to joining Okotoks, he played 132 games over three seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.
