The Okotoks Oilers Junior A Hockey Club is extremely pleased to announce that forward Rhett Gardner has been selected as Team Captain for Team Canada West at the upcoming World Junior A Hockey Championships. The Tournament will be held in Kindersley, Saskatchewan from December 14-20, 2014.
Gardner, who also made Team Canada West last season, is currently leading the Oilers in points as we close in on the Christmas break with 14 goals and 14 assists in 33 games.
Congratulations Rhett, and good luck in the tournament!
NOTEBOOK:
Team Canada West lost their first game of the tournament to Denmark on Sunday, December 14 with a final score of 3-2.
Of the 22 players selected to play for Team Canada West, nine players came from both the AJHL and BCHL, three from the SJHL and one from the MJHL.
