OKOTOKS, AB (December 1, 2022) — Four Okotoks Oilers have been invited to selection camp for Team Canada West at the upcoming World Junior A Challenge, the CJHL announced today.
Conyr Hellyer (Okotoks, AB), Rylan Brown (Sherwood Park, AB), Nick Wolfenberg (Calgary, AB), and Sam Huck (Calgary, AB) were among 31 players invited to compete for a spot at the upcoming international tournament in Cornwall, Ontario.
Hellyer, an Arizona State commit, is currently the sixth-highest goal scorer in the AJHL, having recorded 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 25 games this season. Brown, who was acquired mid-season in a trade with Drayton Valley, has scored 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 24 games this year and recently committed to Michigan Tech. Wolfenberg ranks sixth among all AJHL defencemen in goals and 10th in points with 20 (6 goals, 14 assists) in 25 games this season. Huck, who committed in his rookie campaign to Western Michigan University, has scored 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 19 games this season.
The four Oilers will travel to Cornwall for the camp next week, with practices and intrasquad games from December 5th-7th leading up to the event from December 11th-18th, being held for the first time since 2019.
