Holloway Joins Team Canada Red at World U-17 Championships

Okotoks, AB (November 4, 2017) – Okotoks Oilers centre Dylan Holloway has been added to Team Canada Red at the upcoming World U-17 Challenge.

The 16-year old is the only player in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) to be selected to one of the three Canadian participants at the tournament representing the best underaged 17 aged hockey players from six different countries including the United States, Russia, Czech Republic, Finland & Sweden.

Holloway was signed by the Oilers in the 2016-17 off-season where he notched 20 points (13 goals, 7 assists) at the Midget AAA level with the Calgary Northwest Flames followed by his commitment to the University of Wisconsin Badgers last season.

In his rookie season with the Oilers, Holloway averaging a point per game through the 16 games played to date.  He has scored 7 goals and added 9 assists and is ranked 8th in AJHL rookie scoring.

The Bragg Creek native does have tournament experience being a member of Team Alberta at the Western Canada Challenge Cup in 2016 and winning a goal medal along with Oilers Goalie Coach Derek Purfield.

Holloway will join the rest of his Team Canada Red teammates as they opening up the tournament when they play Finland, Sunday November 5, 2017 at 2:30 PM.

Holloway is the 2nd player in Oiler history joining Oiler Alumni Rhett Gardner (North Dakota) was member of Team Canada at the 2012 U-17’s.
