Last Wednesday, February 12th the Okotoks Oilers, in partnership with The Home Depot Canada, hosted an amazing 'On The Bench' Coaching Clinic where one lucky minor hockey team – The Okotoks PeeWee Gold Oilers – got to take the ice with our very own coaching staff and players for a practice of their own!
The PeeWees got to spend an hour on the ice with Coach Poole, Coach Deis, Robbie Fisher, John Edwardh, Jake Dube, Tariq Hammond, Jared D'Amico, Rhett Gardner and Ambrose Firkus and received awesome Home Depot jerseys that the whole Oilers team signed for them afterwards.
At the end of the day it really was a clinic; Coaches Poole and Deis skated the PeeWees pretty hard, teaching them what it takes to excel in the sport of hockey. The boys were exhausted by the end of the hour, but we made up for it by bringing them into the Oilers dressing room afterwards for a pizza party and autograph session!
