Okotoks, AB ? The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce the signing of 2004-born forward Rieger Lorenz (Calgary, Alberta) for the 2020-21 season.
Lorenz comes to the Oilers after two extremely successful campaigns with the Edge School of the CSSHL. Lorenz tallied 72 points (37 goals, 35 assists) in 35 regular season games with the U18 Prep team this past year ? good for second in league goals and fourth in overall league points. The 6?2?, 170lbs. forward also tallied a team-leading 35 assists and was named the CSSHL Top Freshman for the 2019/20 campaign.
Oilers Head Coach / General Manager / Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says, Lorenz will make an immediate impact with the Oilers.
?Rieger is a gifted player with a tenacity on the puck that will allow him to step in and contribute on a deep Oiler lineup. Rieger can contribute at both ends of the rink and we are incredibly excited to have him as an integral part of our program and community.?
Lorenz is committed to the University of Denver (Year ? TBD).
