Nick Wolfenberg ranked 193rd in NHL midterm rankings

OKOTOKS, AB (January 13, 2023) — Okotoks Oilers defenceman Nick Wolfenberg (Calgary, AB) has been ranked 193rd among North American skaters in the mid-term NHL Draft rankings by NHL Central Scouting, the agency announced today.

Wolfenberg, 18, is one of eight AJHL players named in the rankings, after committing last month to NCAA Division I Cornell University.

The second-year Oiler is the 18th-highest scoring defenceman in the AJHL this season, recording 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 32 games. The 6’2″, 210lb defenceman has already eclipsed his point total from his rookie campaign, in which he scored 13 points in an injury-shortened 36 games. His six goals this season are the tenth-highest among AJHL defencemen as well.

Wolfenberg was recruited to the Oilers in 2021 from the Northern Alberta Xtreme of the CSSHL.

His team hosts the Olds Grizzlys tonight at 7 PM before taking on Brooks on the road on Saturday night.
