OKOTOKS, AB (August 10, 2021) ““ The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired 2001-born forward Ethan Jamernik (Calgary, AB) from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in exchange for the rights to 2002-born forward Cale Sanders (Claresholm, AB), the team announced today.
Jamernik, 19, scored 7 points, all assists, in 14 games in the shortened 2020-21 AJHL season, following up a 6-point (2 goals, 4 assists) campaign in 40 games of his rookie season the year prior.
In 2018-19, he was the 6th-highest scorer on the U18 AAA Calgary Royals, recording 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) in 28 games, and dressed in three games as an affiliate for Okotoks while his brother and future Oiler captain Louis played for the team.
Sanders, 18, scored 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games in 2020-21 for Okotoks, after joining the team from Regina of the Western Hockey League.
