Currently a sophomore at the University of North Dakota, former Oiler Alumni defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker has won a gold medal with Team Canada during the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championships after Canada defeated Russia in Sunday’s Gold Medal final 4-3.
The Oilers Organization cannot be more proud of Jacob and his accomplishments. Bernard-Docker logged the most ice time of any Canadian skater in the tournament, averaging nearly 19 minutes per game. He also scored in the quarter final against Slovakia, assisting Team Canada with a win and the opportunity to advance in the tournament.
This Canmore native will now rejoin the Fighting Hawks to complete the 2019-20 season.
The Oilers would like to congratulate Jacob on his gold medal and wish him the best of luck for the remainder of season with the Fighting Hawks.
