Oilers Appoint Brad Cobb to the Position of Head Scout

Okotoks, AB ? The Okotoks Oilers are excited to announce the appointment of Brad Cobb to the position of Head Scout.

Brad Cobb, resident of Okotoks, has been a member of the Oilers Scouting Staff since 2013.  Over the past six seasons Cobb has been instrumental in the recruitment and development of players for our organization.  Brad brings with him an extensive coaching and hockey development portfolio:

– Head Coach for the Airdrie Bantam AAA team for two seasons, winning the Bantam AAA Western Championships both years.
– Head Coach of the UFA Midget AAA team in Strathmore, where he won Coach of the Year for the 2002-2003 season.
– During his time as Head Coach at the Bantam and Midget AAA level, Cobb was named three times as an All-Star Coach for those leagues.

After spending some time dabbling in the coaching ranks at the Junior A level, Brad and his family relocated to the Medicine Hat area where he filled the role of General Manager for Medicine Hat Minor Hockey.  Moving back to the Okotoks area in 2013, Cobb found himself stepping into a scouting role and assisting as a Hockey Development Coach with the Oilers Organization, all while serving as the Head Coach for the OOAA Bantam AA team.

We are thrilled to have Brad?s expertise and hockey knowledge assisting us in the recruitment of players for our team.  Well continuing to coach the OOAA Bantam AA group this season, we know Brad will help us in not only the recruitment of high level players but also with the continual development of prospect players looking at one day becoming a member of the Okotoks Oilers.

Other recently appointed positions in the Oilers Organization are:

Jason Johnstone to the role of Assistant Head Scout
Gord Susinski to the role of Director of Player Personnel / Scout
