Oilers blanked in Brooks 5-0

BROOKS, AB (February 5, 2022) ““ 29 sensational saves by Jack McNaughton (Calgary, AB) kept the Okotoks Oilers in it through two periods on Saturday night, but the team couldn”™t muster an offensive breakthrough and fell 5-0 to the host Brooks Bandits.

Okotoks was outshot 31-16 through the first two periods but found itself down only 2-0. T.J. Hughes scored with 54 seconds left in the first after a turnover in front of the Oilers net, and Ryan McAllister doubled that lead at 7:42 of the second period on a shot from the slot.

But Brooks pulled away in the third, outshooting the Oilers 10-6 and adding a second from Hughes, a power play goal from Devin Phillips, and a second goal from McAllister to notch the 5-0 final, outshooting the Oilers 41-22 in total.
