Oilers fall in see-saw Bonnyville battle

BONNYVILLE, AB (November 13, 2022) — The Okotoks Oilers (14-7-3) got goals from four different goal scorers, but fell narrowly in their final game of a three-in-three northern road trip on Sunday afternoon, 6-4 with an empty netter to the host Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Bonnyville erased 2-0 and 3-2 Okotoks leads, before the Oilers battled back from a 4-3 deficit of their own to force a crucial third period.

But Nicolas Beaudoin scored 58 seconds into the frame for the deciding goal, and added the empty net marker at 19:02.

Ty Yoder (Tofield, AB), Ethan Rowland (Calgary, AB), Conyr Hellyer (Okotoks, AB), and Brett Huxley (Calgary, AB) scored for the Oilers in the game, as Alex Scheiwiller (Calgary, AB) made 32 saves in his second start in as many days.

The Oilers will travel to Canmore on Tuesday night to take on the host Eagles at 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 PM on The Eagle 100.9 FM.
