OKOTOKS, AB (October 19, 2021) ““ Okotoks Oilers forwards Rieger Lorenz (Calgary, AB) and Bowden Singleton (Calgary, AB) have been named to NHL Central Scouting”™s Players to Watch List for the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft, it was announced today.
Lorenz, 17, is the highest ranked CJHL player, being named a “B” Skater, indicating a potential 2nd or 3rd round draft choice.
The second-year Oiler and University of Denver commit is currently the AJHL”™s ninth highest scorer, and second among 2004-born players, with 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists) in 12 games.
Singleton, 17, was rated a “C” Skater, or potential 4th/5th/6th round selection. Committed to the Universityt of North Dakota, he leads the Oilers in scoring, and is the highest scorer among 2004-born players in the AJHL, ranking 4th overall with 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists) in 12 games played.
Recent NHL draft selections from the Oilers include Dylan Holloway (2020, 1st Round, 14th Overall), Quinn Olson (2019, 3rd Round, 92nd Overall), Jacob Bernard-Docker (2018, 1st Round, 26th Overall), and Austin Wong (2018, 7th Round, 214th Overall), making the team one of the most successful in Canadian junior hockey ranks at consistently producing professional prospects over the last few years.
The 2022 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled for July 7th & 8th, 2022 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
