Oilers forwards Singleton and Lorenz named to AJHL South All-Rookie Team

OKOTOKS, AB (March 25, 2022) ““ Okotoks Oilers forwards Bowden Singleton (Calgary, AB) and Rieger Lorenz (Calgary, AB) have been named to the Alberta Junior Hockey League”™s South Division All-Rookie team, the league announced today.

The All-Rookie teams feature three forwards, two defencemen, and one goalie from each division.

Singleton, 17, was the fifth-highest scoring rookie in the league this season, recording 59 points (20 goals, 39 assists) in 60 games. The North Dakota commit has so far added 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 8 playoff games. His 39 assists were the 13th-highest in the AJHL and third-best among rookies.

Lorenz, 17, was the league”™s second-highest scoring rookie and fifth-highest scorer overall with 85 points (38 goals, 47 assists) in 60 games, adding 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) in 8 playoff games so far. He was named the AJHL Rookie of the Year, the second Oiler to win the prestigious league award, at the conclusion of the regular season. The Denver commit was the league”™s rookie leader in goals scored and ranked fourth overall in that category as well.

Both players were ranked in the most recent NHL Central Scouting rankings for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, with Lorenz 24th and Singleton 192nd among North American skaters.
