Okotoks, AB ? The Okotoks Oilers are proud to announce their captain for the upcoming 2019-20 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
19-year-old fourth year defenseman and Assistant Captain on the 2018-19 Oilers, Ayden Roche-Setoguchi, (Calgary, AB) will take the reigns in his final season of junior hockey.
Oilers Head Coach / General Manager / Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says having Roche-Setoguchi don the ?C? this season will help to keep our consistency of great leadership both on and off the ice. ?Ayden is an extremely dedicated player that we are excited to have back on the ice after having shoulder surgery. We look forward to having his infectious personality and commitment to the game and community back, both in the dressing room and on the ice, while he leads this team towards a national championship.?
In 112 career games played in the AJHL, Setoguchi has accumulated 36 points (7 goals, 29 assists) and 241 penalty minutes. Ayden will take over the Oilers captaincy from graduating forward Kyle Gordon who is committed the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns this fall.
The Oilers organization would like to congratulate both Ayden and his family for this incredible honour and accomplishment.
The rest of the Oilers leadership group will be named at a later date.
