Oilers Name Kyle Gordon Team Captain

Okotoks, AB – The Okotoks Oilers are proud to announce their captain for the incoming 2018-19 Alberta Junior Hockey League season.
Third year forward and alternate captain on the 2017-18 Oilers Kyle Gordon (Cochrane, AB) will take the reigns in his final season of junior hockey.

Gordon, 19, had a career season (2017/18) with the Oilers as he was second in team scoring notching 62 points (25 goals, 37 assists) in 58 game played with six of them being game winning goals, while adding six points (two goals, 4 assists) in 14 AJHL playoff games during the franchise’s first appearance in the AJHL Championship this spring.

Oilers Head Coach / General Manager / Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says having Gordon don the ‘C’ will help the Oilers continue their success both on and off ice following a historic run for the green & gold.

“Kyle represents what it truly means to be an Oiler.  We look forward to his leadership in the dressing room, on the ice, and out in the community.”

Gordon in 101 career games played with the Oilers has accumulated 88 points (31 goals, 57 assists), he takes over the Oilers captaincy from graduating forward Carter Huber who is committed the NCAA Division I University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks this fall.

The Oilers organization would like to congratulate both Kyle and his family for this incredible honour and accomplishment.
The rest of the Oilers leadership group will be named later this off-season.
