OKOTOKS, AB (October 21, 2021) ““ The Okotoks Oilers have added 2002-born forward Ty Yoder (Tofield, AB) to the roster, it was announced today.
Yoder, 19, joins the team after spending the last three-plus seasons with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League (WHL), dressing in 116 total games.
Prior to his junior career, he led the CSSHL”™s Elite 15s division in scoring in 2017-18, recording 74 points (44 goals, 33 assists) in 34 games with the Northern Alberta Xtreme.
“Ty is a player that has been well-known to our staff for quite a few years,” remarked head coach and general manager Tyler Deis. “His experience at the junior level is exactly what we”™ve been looking to add, and we”™re looking forward to seeing what he does this weekend.”
Yoder is expected to make his AJHL debut in the next few days, as the Oilers host the Lloydminster Bobcats and Whitecourt Wolverines in consecutive home games on Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets are available online at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca.
