Oilers smash Movember goal, raising over $12,000

OKOTOKS, AB (December 2, 2021) — The Okotoks Oilers exceeded their fundraising goal for Movember this season, raising a total of $12,270 over the course of the month with efforts from both players and staff.

The team exceeded its $10,000 goal, with the money going to fund prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health initiatives.  

Business Operations Coordinator Kyle Moore led the way with $3,465 in total fundraising, with play-by-play broadcaster Gino De Paoli the second-highest with $2,350. Athletic Therapist Courtney Owen also raised $635.  

Among players, veteran forward Brendan Boyle led the way with $1,100 raised, with Jamie Weller ($600), Dean Spak ($450), and Austin Reschny ($395) and others helping to build the successful campaign.
