LLOYDMINSTER, SK (November 11, 2022) — The Okotoks Oilers outshot their opposition 35-24 on Friday night, but fell 3-2 in Lloydminster to the host Bobcats to end their streak of games without a regulation loss at 12, a span of over a month.
A scoreless first period saw the teams tie in shots 6-6, before the Oilers took a commanding shot lead in the second at 21-9. But it was Lloydminster that broke through in that period on a Nik Hoogendoorn goal off the rush in the final minute to make it 1-0 Bobcats.

In the third, Nick Wolfenberg (Calgary, AB) responded with a slap shot goal from the right point to tie it 1-1, before Lloydminster retook the lead on a power play goal from Jack Parker. But Nolan Flint (Beaverlodge, AB) tied it back up, chasing down his own rebound and jamming it past goaltender Matthew Syverson to make it 2-2.
Lloydminster took the lead for good with 5 minutes left, though, when a dump-in to the right corner boards took a fortunate bounce off the squared boards and deflected the puck directly to the slot, where Brock Krulicki chased it down and one-timed it past Parker Sawka (Cochrane, AB) for the 3-2 final score.
The Oilers will continue their northern road swing Saturday night when they take on the Fort McMurray Oil Barons at 7:30 PM. Pre-game coverage starts at 7:15 on The Eagle 100.9.
