Okotoks Oilers acquire 19-year old defenseman Jordan Davies

January 10th, 2016

The Okotoks Oilers have acquired 19-year old defenseman Jordan Davies from the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL in exchange for Devon Brooks, Keillan Olson and future considerations.

Davies who is listed at 6’2”, 190 lbs and from Sherwood Park, AB played the past 2+ seasons with the Whitecourt Wolverines before getting traded to Nipawin at the December 1 card deadline.  Davies has recorded 24 goals and 68 points in 133 AJHL games with the Wolverines.

“We are very excited to add Jordan to our roster,” states Oilers Head Coach James Poole.  “Jordan really takes the depth of our defensive group to another level as he adds size, elite offensive skill and experience to an already solid group, and fits with our need to add quality players at the 1996 birth year.  Anytime you want to add a player of Jordan’s caliber it means giving something up and that is unfortunately the case with having to move two quality players & people in Keillan and Devon.

The Oilers would like to welcome Jordan to the organization, and also thank Devon and Keillan for their contributions this season and wish them the best of luck in their hockey careers.
