Okotoks Oilers sign Jack McNaughton

OKOTOKS, AB (November 17, 2021) ““ The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have signed 2001-born goaltender Jack McNaughton (Calgary, AB), the team announced today.

McNaughton, 20, joins the team after spending the previous four seasons with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he compiled a career record of 46-24-8, with an .884 save percentage and 3.32 goals against average.

“Jack brings a lot of experience to our group, in addition to his talents as a goaltender, and we”™re happy he”™s chosen our program as the next step in his junior career,” said Oilers head coach and general manager Tyler Deis. “We expect him to play an important role down the stretch given the youth of our team, especially on defence.”

A graduate of the Calgary U18 AAA Royals, the 6″™1″, 192lb goalie also dressed in one game for the Oilers on an emergency basis in the 2020 Development Season, stopping 31 of 35 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Brooks Bandits.

The Oilers will be in Canmore on Friday night to take on the Eagles at 7:00 PM before returning home for a Saturday night clash with the Olds Grizzlys, also at 7:00 PM. Tickets for the latter game are available online at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca.
