Okotoks Oilers to implement Restrictions Exemption Program for Home Games

OKOTOKS, AB (September 20, 2021) ““ The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) will implement the Government of Alberta”™s Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) for home games until further notice, it was announced today.

All patrons over the age of 12 attending games will be required to show one of the following to enter the Pason Centennial Arena, alongside valid photo identification:
“¢ Valid paper or digital vaccine record that shows name, vaccine type and date of administration (Until October 25th, proof of one dose is sufficient)
“¢ Privately-paid, Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR test completed within the previous 72 hours, with negative result
“¢ A signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner noting a medical exemption

Implementing this program will allow Oiler games to operate at full capacity, with operational effectiveness, and with concession and bar service. Face coverings will remain mandatory for everyone over the age of two, except when eating or drinking in the facility.

The organization asks fans to please plan to arrive a little earlier than usual to avoid the 7 PM rush. The ticket office will now open at 6:00 PM for 7:00 PM games.

This announcement follows similar ones announced last Friday from the Alberta Junior Hockey League indicating that all teams will be operating under the REP, and from the Town of Okotoks implementing the REP for the Arena.

Season ticket holders who would like to cancel their seats as a result of this policy may contact the Oilers office at admin@okotoksoilers.com. This policy does not trigger the team”™s refund policy as no games are being cancelled, but the organization will allow season ticket purchasers to convert their seats into an online ticket account credit for future games or future season ticket purchases. Credits are not transferable, but please note that tickets are transferable.

The Oilers also ask the community to please exercise patience and understanding with those who are required to enforce this policy, as all non-profits like ours do their utmost to navigate a challenging time.

We look forward to welcoming fans to a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment on Friday night for a long-awaited home opener at 7:00 PM against the Canmore Eagles. Pre-purchasing tickets is the best way to speed up the game night process, and can be done at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca.
