Rieger Lorenz named AJHL Player of the Month

OKOTOKS, AB (January 5, 2022) — Okotoks Oilers forward Rieger Lorenz (Calgary, AB) is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for December 2021.   The 17-year old forward recorded 17 points (8G, 9A) through seven games in December and leads the team in scoring.

Lorenz has the most goals of all AJHL rookies (26) and is fourth overall in the AJHL Scoring Race with 60 points (26G, 34A).   He is averaging 1.6 points per game and currently enjoying an eight-game point streak, totaling 19 points.

Throughout December 2021, Lorenz was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game four times.   He compiled a six-game point streak and 17 points over the month, including two four-point games, and closed out the year with his second AJHL hat trick on New Year”™s Eve.

Rieger was awarded as the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season for his performance during the week of December 13th-19th, 2021.

The University of Denver commit is also the highest-ranked AJHL player on the NHL Central Scouting draft rankings, having received a “˜B”™ rating earlier this season.
