Spak Signs with Oilers

Okotoks, AB ? The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce the signing of 2003-born forward Dean Spak (Calgary, Alberta) for the 2020-21 season.

 

Spak comes to the Oilers after two successful campaigns with the Calgary Northstars U18 AAA team where he tallied 37 points in 57 games played over the past two seasons including 23 points and a team-leading 53 penalty minutes through 2019/20. The 5?10?, 160lbs. forward has also been a staple at the Mac?s U18 AAA Tournament where he?s amassed a point-per-game over the past two seasons (8GP, 4G, 4A, 8PTS, 8PIM).

 

Oilers Head Coach / General Manager / Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says, Spak?s maturity and professionalism will allow him to adjust well to play in the AJHL.

?Dean carries himself with the utmost professionalism and leadership on and off the ice. His character and work ethic are exceptional and have allowed him to have a strong U18 development path and will translate well to the junior game. Dean?s coachability and strength will help him grow into a premier forward in our league. We are incredibly excited to have Dean join the program this season.?

 

Dean will be a familiar face to Oiler fans ? he?s donned the green and gold three times over the past two seasons.
