VIDEO: Camrose comes back to beat Oilers 5-1

OKOTOKS, AB (January 3, 2022) ““ The Okotoks Oilers opened the scoring, and led after the first, but allowed five straight goals en route to a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Camrose Kodiaks on Monday night at Pason Centennial Arena.

A Rieger Lorenz (Calgary, AB) post-and-in wrist shot on a power play 5:15 into the game gave the home side the early advantage, but it was erased with a Callum Gau power play point shot tip at 5:08 of the second, and then followed up by a Sam Schoenfeld point shot goal at 16:36 to give the Kodiaks the lead.

In the third, Robert Kincaid scored 21 seconds in on another seeing-eye wrister from the blue line, before Owen Dean made it 4-1 at the 10:44 mark with a rebound goal off an offensive zone faceoff. The Kodiaks added an empty netter on a long wrist shot from their own zone with 52 seconds left to seal the 5-1 final.

The Oilers will host Canmore and Brooks this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights, with 7 PM puck drops both nights and tickets available at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca.
