VIDEO: Crusaders down Oilers 6-1

SHERWOOD PARK, AB (November 13, 2021) ““ The Sherwood Park Crusaders scored twice in the first, once in the second, and three more times in the third, pulling away for a 6-0 lead en route to a 6-1 win over the visiting Okotoks Oilers on Saturday night.

The Oilers”™ record drops to 9-12-1, just two points up on fifth-place Canmore and now eight points behind third-place Drumheller.

A rebound goal for Jaron Desnoyers 12:26 into the game began the scoring, before Bruce MacGregor doubled the lead with 1:29 left in the first on a wrist shot off the rush. Okotoks was outshot 10-7 in the first, and killed off three penalties, before outshooting Sherwod Park 10-7 in the second, killing off four more PKs, but allowing a late power play marker on a Tyler Miller point shot.

In the third, Sherwood Park dominated, outshooting the Oilers 14-9 and tallying three more times on a Carter Chorney 2 on 1 rush goal, a Bode Hagan penalty shot goal, and a Tyler Bates goal on a net front scramble. On the next shift, Sam Huck (Calgary, AB) scored on a wrist shot from the left circle to get Okotoks on the board and notch the 6-1 final.
