CALGARY, AB (September 4, 2021) — Five different Okotoks Oilers found the back of the net, and goalies Austin Zavoda (Hershey, PA) and Cameron Doucette (Calgary, AB) combined for a 32-save shutout, in a 5-0 win over the host Calgary Canucks on Saturday night.

Okotoks got on the board first on a Dean Spak (Calgary, AB) rebound goal at 14:33. Just over three minutes later, with Okotoks on a power play, Gehrig Lindberg (East Aurora, NY) fired a long shot home from the blue line to double the lead.
The Oilers added two more in the second; first a Conyr Hellyer (Okotoks, AB) rebound goal at 15:47, and the second a deflection at the net front by Ryan Neumann (Calgary, AB) less than a minute later.
Ethan Jamernik (Calgary, AB) capped off the scoring in the third with a rebound goal off the rush to notch the 5-0 final score. Shots in the game were tied 32-32 with the Oilers on 3 power plays but 6 penalty kills in the game.
The Oilers will next duel the Brooks Bandits to cap off preseason, visiting Brooks on Friday night before hosting the Bandits in Dewinton at the Scott Seaman Arena on Saturday at 7 PM. Tickets for the latter are available online at tickets.okotoksoilers.ca.
