A lot of work has been done by a committee of dedicated volunteers to help get Okotoks closer and closer to being Kraft Hockeyville 2016.
As of last night, all that hard work has paid off as Okotoks was named one of the top 10 finalists.
The committee hosted a viewing party last night to celebrate the announcement and Connie Drake, says that Okotoks being in the top 10 was a great surprise.
“It was absolute shock, disbelief, and utter enjoyment. The entire building errupted in cheers.”
The top 10 will be further narrowed down to the top 2, through voting. All Okotokians and their friends and family are asked to vote, and vote a lot to help secure Okotoks in the top 2.
Voting takes place on March 13th and 14th. The top 2 communities will be announced on March 19th.
